Shoney's needs to undergo a change in its business model before adding stores. I highly doubt closing stores left and right, serving a breakfast food only buffet, increasing prices on menu items with small portion sizes and lack of service is the way to go.

Shoney's should not have abandoned the Big Boy franchise and format. They were better back then. Today, the Frisch's Big Boy seems the most successful. In Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.

Had dinner at Shoney's in Columbia this weekend. It ain't the Shoney's that eveeryone seems to remember so fondly. Blleeeeaaahhhh!! Pretty much a wasted hour that I'll never get back. Breakfast might be better experience, but I didn't feel inspired to find out. I'll pass on having Shoney's coming back to town.

Sadly I agree that Shoney's has seen its better day. Many locations have closed throughout the Southeast. It was best back when it was Shoney's Big Boy back in the 70's and 80's. But Frisch's Big Boy is still good in Ohio and Kentucky.

I see I am not the only one having negative lasting impressions of Shoney's.
