Had the cat converter stolen off my 2008 CRV Honda this am. Where would be a good place to have it replaced here in the Greenville area? Other than dealer.

Heard that 'Especially Honda' was a great place to take your Honda ride. Anybody done that? How are the prices for something as above?

I don't have any personal references, but any muffler shop should be able to handle this.

Why would anyone want to steal a cat converter? In fact I hope someone steals mine so I can get some more performance out of my car (had 3 cats..down to 2 now ).

We used to take my wife's CRV to Especially Honda. Very nice guys, seemed trustworthy, and less expensive than the dealer.

I would agree that any muffler shop could do it though.

Shop around.. I know of a place in Laurens that will put a new cat on for you, and let you buy the part.

Often times, a shop will sell you a "California Emissions" Cat.. Which are significantly more expensive. You can find a new exact-fit cat at rockauto.com for about $225. Figure an hour or two of labor to put it on.. You could probably get it done in the neighborhood of $400.

They start quoting you a Honda cat.. Price could go up quite a bit

Sexton's across from Lowes in Cherrydale. I had my CC stolen off my Tacoma and they hooked me up with a very reasonable replacement (Toyota wanted A LOT for OE. This is a 10 year old truck)

After someone halfway started to take THAT one off before realizing it was a cheap replacement Sextons patched the holes for free.

Many good experiences w Sexton's, you can't go wrong there.

Are there any 'do it yourself' auto repair shops in the Greenville area? I don't have the facilities to do repairs but I can do the work. I.E., tools, lifts, things like that.
Kind of like a auto hobby shop one would find on a military base.
