We have been pretty successful at avoiding Woodruff Road traffic. The congestion in that area was one of the reasons we marked it off of our list of areas to look at houses.

There are quite a few religious schools in the area - is there a reason you picked this particular one? There might be a similar school in a less congested area that would save you a lot of daily traffic headaches.

I'm a stay at home mom right now so I really won't be in any big rush leaving the school. I just don't want to have to wake my daughter up an hour earlier than necessary to get her there on time. I'm fairly certain that traffic will not be anything close to what we are used to where I live either. We were actually on Woodruff around 5:00 a couple of weeks ago and it was nothing compared to here. I'm just mainly concerned about the mornings and I don't want to assume anything since we are trying to make big decisions from a distance right now. Thanks again for your helpful replies!

The main reason we like the school is because we want Bible based teaching without a lot of religion pulled in. We also like that the school is large enough to offer most extracurricular activities, yet still small enough for the teachers to actually know your child. It's also similar to the school our daughter has attended for most of her life. I am certainly open to suggestions if you have any though!

On the Greer side of things, you could live as far away as the Thornblade area and still be at Southside Christian in less than 20 mins. Spaulding Farm is definitely a nice neighborhood though, and while a little traffic would be involved, is an easy commute to Southside Christian. Not as familiar with Sycamore Ridge.

That helps a lot! I was actually looking online at a house in Thornblade today and was wondering exactly what you just told me because the zip code was different than the other Greer homes I had looked at close to Simpsonville. Now I'm going to go back and find that house and take another look at it. Thanks!

I commute via Woodruff Rd. from Hwy. 14 to I-385 every day. It can be tedious sometimes, but it can be done. It is helpful that one have the ability to read traffic patterns and act accordingly. As noted, at least Woodruff Road has multiple travel lanes in each direction (until someone screws up).
