"Select" has opened in the former Billy D's location on South Pine Street. Went there for lunch last week and it was excellent. I had the shrimp & grits. They also have the old Billy D's staple chicken fried chicken with sawmill gravy. It is ran by the folks who run The Epicurian on Woodruff Road.

Bojangles' of Duncan closed recently as its lease expired. Its operator, Chix and Bix LLC, is exploring sites for a new location.

Most restaurants in Duncan are located on East Main Street east of Interstate 85.

That and right after they opened they didn't maintain their signs which started falling down while they were open which made me think they didn't care so I wasn't going to eat there again. That just screams I don't want to run a business. Now there's a for lease sign out front and half fallen down Gringo signs still.
I am not surprised Gringo was unsuccessful.

Default Beacon Drive-In, 255 John B. White Sr. Boulevard, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29306-6047

I had a healthy and delicious dining experience at the Beacon Drive-In Saturday. I had a double cheeseburger a-plenty. The burger and fries were so good I could not eat the fried onion rings.

I have not tried the pounder and double pounder yet. I hope they are good a-plenty.

CK...
I can hear your arteries hardening from here....LOL. It's definitely one of those things I grew up with that now require severe moderation. I really do try to limit my visits to about once a year, these days.

I can do the Beacon Drive-In with limited visits and specific foods I can eat. I stay away from fried foods. If I can order a plate instead of a-plenty next time, I would not have to worry about fried onions.

I hope your craving will be realized. I should try a double pounder on my next visit.
