I do not foresee Giant Eagle entering Upstate SC. They are mainly concentrated in Pennsylvania and Ohio if I am not mistaken. However, perhaps at some point we could see certain aspects of Giant Landover or Giant Carlisle adopted by Food Lion following the Ahold/Delhaize merger, but that remains to be seen. And often the 3 Giant chains tend to be confused, but the Ahold divisions are overall more successful than Food Lion.
It would be great to see more Captain D's locations come to the area. I have heard good reviews of the new location in Easley, and they are a step above Long John Silver's which seems to be withdrawing from the market.
And I have heard Popeyes are planned for Easley and Greer.
OK, you got my attention. Popeyes WHERE in Greer/Easley?
I do not know further details. But was told by management they have future plans for those areas. Currently Popeyes has locations in Boiling Springs and Gaffney.
