I believe Giant Food Landover, Md and Giant Eagle from Pa. may have merged. But they don't have stores south of Virginia. And at one time, Giant was part of Ahold which once owned Bi-Lo.

Fredrick, MD is fortunate to have numerous Roy Rogers Restaurants in the region. One of my favorite fast food establishments, and the franchise in that region was smart enough to never convert to Hardee's after the split from Marriott. Today they operate the whole company, which is revitalized and expanding again in the Mid Atlantic region. I just wish they would come back to the Carolinas, but I guess they have to make it back to Richmond first and work their way south and west from there. But I really miss their great roast beef sandwich and fried chicken, and the burgers are good too.
