Captain D's has been here before. I cannot recall when it specifically closed, but it must have been around 1989 or 1990.

The largest site was previously Bi-Lo #9, located at 1234 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-1225. The store was replaced by Bi-Lo #5195, North Hills, 2435 East North Street, Greenville, South Carolina 29615-1400, in the late 1980's. The vacant space was later occupied by Naked Furniture and Play It Again Sports.

Bob Jones University had a plan years ago to create a mid-rise residential community.

I would like to see the city of Greenville develop a master plan that will revitalize North Pleasantburg Drive from East North Street to Wade Hampton Boulevard. I think one was conceived several years ago, but it was not executed.

I think the North Pleasantburg Drive sub-market has enough commercial uses. I would gladly consider another non-quick service restaurant as a dining option. Mid-rise residential communities to infill would be a wise direction.

I would love to see a Roy Rogers but that may not be the best location. Because there is already a Jack in the Box there as well as a new Hardee's being built nearby. But it would be great to have a Roy Rogers in Greenville, SC serving roast beef, burgers, and fried chicken.
