Are there any markets with both the Kroger and Harris Teeter brands coexisting? I am thinking possibly Raleigh-Durham, or maybe Charleston or Columbia? And I would like to see one of those new Kroger supercenters come to the Upstate, as they are currently under construction near Columbia.

Yes, Kroger and Harris Teeter overlap in Beaufort County, Durham and Wake counties in North Carolina, and Charlottesville and Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Kroger is proceeding with Marketplace hypermarket stores at Buckwalter Place in Bluffton and Killian's Crossing in Columbia. Three additional Marketplace stores are planned in Richland and Lexington counties.
Observing Kroger's growth in recent years, chains that are well managed and located in specific regions are being acquired. Harris Teeter and Roundy's are examples. Is there a chain in the Greenville area that could be an acquisition target for Kroger?
Kroger, throughout the years, has a history of store swaps with "legacy" Bi Lo stores in the upstate, lowcountry and in the metro Charlotte area. HT has done a few deals with Bi Lo over the years.

Bi-Lo acquired several Harris Teeter stores in South Carolina in 2001. None of those stores remain in operation.
Kroger would be great here in Greenville. They have great stores.
Kroger has been improving its stores. Some stores have expanded or opened with the Marketplace hypermarket format. It could be a possibility these stores compliment Harris Teeter in various trade areas.

I did not realize the Ryanś Steakhouse in Gaffney, SC has closed down. It looked like a nice location in front of the Walmart on Floyd Baker Blvd. But at the old Ryanś in Gaffney, SC I would now like to see a Western Sizzlin Steakhouse.
Also in Gaffney, SC there is good news as the Popeyes Chicken is now under construction on Floyd Baker Blvd.
