Commonly known as West Greenville, the area surrounding Pendleton Street and Lois Avenue, has seen revitalization in recent years with art galleries and new businesses. The area is nearby Brandon and Woodside mills.

Upstate Business Journal has an article in regards to the Village of West Greenville with a design featuring streetscapes, parking, aesthetics and a pedestrian plaza.

The proposed pedestrian area would be the 500 block of Perry Avenue from Briarwood Street to Pendleton Street. The block would be permanently closed off to vehicle traffic.

Pendleton Street would see aesthetic improvements in landscaping, sidewalks and street parking.

This area is really taking off! New restaurants and stores are popping up. Some are calling this area "Little Asheville."

My wife and I were married in the Village a couple of years ago. We knew it would become the new Westend over time.

Seems like a neat area and good to see Greenville begin to develop neighborhood districts to give folks an alternative to downtown. I personally am not huge into the art scene but I think its great for Greenville to have a place to offer that vibe.
