So growing up in the Philippines I grew up going to bakeries on every corner. Most of the bakeries had a lot of European/Spanish types of breads (due to the fact the PI was a Spanish colony for a few hundred years).

Needless to say I miss some good Spanish pastries, sweet breads, and more.

Are there any good local bakeries here in Greenville/Greer that have some awesome food?

I'm hankering for some good gluten filled bread!

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Pereira Bakery on Lee road is a good Colombian bakery (with food as well).

There's an Hispanic bakery on Pleasantburg across from Bob Jones U (scene of a recent car theft). I don't know what they have. There is a similar place over on White Horse Rd.

There is a Mexican bakery at La Unica supermarket on US25. You might want to give it a try. I have been looking for a Puerto Rican bread called Mayorcas but have not been able to find any. Does any one know where they have them?

Driving out East North Street last week, I noticed a small "panaderia" in the shopping strip just after the Pelham Rd. fork. Greer-Taylors Patch reports it specializes in traditional Hispanic baked goods such as fresh breads, pastries and sweet treats, as well as American cupcakes and desserts.

Ok, so I stopped by the Panaderia next to Trader's Gun today. Oh wow! Talk about some good pastries. Picked up a slice of Tres Leches cake, a Puerquito, and 2 other pastries for just over 5 bucks.

Ate half of them at work (gotta save the other half for the family..hehe)

Never have eaten a Puerquito before and I must say it's absolutely fantastic.

I have a feeling I'll be stopping by this bakery some more...
