Last night I took my hubby to Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique to celebrate his birthday. This newish restaurant is located in northern Travelers Rest and is 2 turns off of Rt 25. It is about 15 mins from Furman.
Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique
The food was delicious from the homemade bread at the start to our appetizers and entrees; everything was fresh and flavorful. They grow a lot of the garden ingredients right on the property. The chef, Adam Cooke is the former executive chef at the Barn at Blackberry farm a very well-regarded restaurant. We were too full to try dessert.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing. We had a few ingredient questions that were answered well.
And the VIEW! Below is a picture I took with my phone camera. It was our view from the table.
This is an expensive restaurant, but no more so than say a High Cotton or Soby's. It's great for a special occasion and a must-visit for foodies. We will definitely be back. Note: In June they are doing 3 courses menus for $30 on Tuesday evenings (beverages are extra). And the host told us that they have live music on Thursdays.
