Does anyone know of organic produce farms open to the public in and around Spartanburg (preferably) or within an hour or so driving distance? We don't just want berries (which is all we can seem to find), but we're interested in as much of a variety of produce as possible. Whole Foods and other places are just too high. Thanks in advance for your help.

Backyard Produce - Online Farmers Market | Backyard Produce - might be a good option for you.

Also, Greenbrier Farms CSA - http://www.greenbrierfarms.com/csa/info

Would you consider local farms and orchards offering organic produce?

We get a weekly delivery from http://www.motherearthproduce.com.

Not the same as stopping by a stand, but we've been happy with the quality and price. You can set up recurring or one-time orders and choose from a variety of vegetables and fruit. They also have local honey, eggs, cheese, and meats.

When we want to shop organic in person, we'll head to Earth Fare or the downtown Saturday Market.

The weekly Hub City Farmer's Market carries a good seasonal variety of produce. Every Saturday morning at the Magnolia Street train station.

The farmer's markets are probably your best bet for a large variety. Bellew's on Garner Road is where I get the majority of my produce. They have a nice organic selection and you can't beat their prices!

Carolinafarmstewards.org will be where you can get a list of 23 farms. They organize the upstate farm tour. Not all the farms sell produce. Some sell meat and eggs. I guess there are about a dozen that sell either fruit and or vegetables, herbs and plant starts.
