I would really like to attend this festival, but I am afraid that getting home will be a nightmare, not to mention that my husband is a real pain about paying for parking. Are there any places to park and take a shuttle? I couldn't find anything online.

I'm wondering how the traffic is as well once leaving. I don't like to pay for parking either. When they have other big festivals downtown, we always end up finding free parking. It does take a little time driving around to find something. My DH always get impatient. I've never been to the fireworks in downtown Greenville so I'm hoping to hear some feedback.

We've been to Greer in the past. We had no trouble finding free parking. FYI, Greer fireworks are this Saturday night. They have a big festival with music, food, kiddie rides and Greer Idol.

We always park behind the county office buildings over off University Ridge. It is on the far end of Main Street but we don't mind the walk. One upside is since it is at the far end of downtown, you can usually get out of there pretty easily. There are also several different ways to exit the parking lot there so if one exit is blocked, just use another one. We live South of Easley so it also puts us on the right side of town to get back home. If you lived in Simpsonville or Greer and the traffic from downtown got backed up, you could head over to Augusta Road and use that to get back to the interstate.

We were in that same parking lot year before last and it took almost two hours to get out.

Thanks for sharing when the Greer fireworks and festival are. I heard an ad for it on the radio today but totally missed the date, if they even gave one.

Don't think we will be going . When we lived in Raleigh, they used to have the fireworks at the fairgrounds; we could park on a side street and watch them. When they moved the celebration downtown we stopped going.

FYI, we went to the Greer fireworks. We had no problem finding a spot and left with barely any traffic. The fireworks and festivities were very nice as well.

Redemption Church off Haywood is doing fireworks July 4th as well @ 10 PM. I'm thinking the mall parking lot maybe a good place to watch those

We'll try to get to the ones in Greer next year, Beckycat; we had company last Saturday night. That's a great suggestion re: the Haywood ones!
