I have a Pentax DSLR that needs internal cleaning and a minor repair. Are there any recommended shops in the area that you would trust? Thanks!

That's a tough one. I had the same need with my Nikon DSLR a couple of years ago and searched high and low for a place around here to do it.
I don't remember if there just plain weren't any places, or if I just didn't find one that I trusted, but I ended up just taking it with me when I went to visit family in New York and got it fixed and cleaned there. There are places you can mail your camera for repairs if you don't find anything local.
Try giving Wolf Camera (on Haywood Road in Greenville) a call and see what they suggest.

Good Luck!

I would highly recommend contacting Spartan Photo Center. It is one of the largest and only two of its kind remaining photo shops in South Carolina from what I've been told.

Last time I was there, I learned that they were planning to relocate their store at the end of June, so I'm not sure if they've done that yet.

Their present located is at 197 East St. John Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Their phone number is 864-583-6835, and their hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It's a great store with very knowledgeable staff. If they are unable to help you themseslves, they will most certainly be able to offer you a good suggestion for solving your problem.

You should contact Pentax and find someone who is licensed to work on your brand. In fact the probably have a list online. There are no camera stores in the area anymore to my knowledge anyways except the Spartanburg one.

P.s. Wolf camera closed over a year ago.
