Ok.....looking at this list, this is a joke. Main St Greenvile is nice but......let's be real. Charleston is a world away better, not even close.

Sure is......West Columbia? Clemson......I drove through there last week and could count the number of people I saw on one hand.

My issue is not that you werent impressed with Charleston, we all have opinions and thats fine. My issue is you saying that Charleston would basically be a "Montgomery" without a beach, and that the beach is the only reason people "prop it up" to be the city it is. Thats 100% false.

The beach and old buildings/history is the biggest draw for Charleston. Greenville is unique in that it's made something out of pretty much nothing. No big tourism or government.

IDK if the poster has ever been to "Montgomery" but Greenville looks like Montgomery and most of the upstate looks like Montgomery. The "Lowcountry" in general looks unique to the south east as a whole. Architecturally and aesthetically Charleston and Montgomery don't look anything alike.

Charleston is isolated from most of the rest of SC. The only thing similar is Savannah.
