Hi everyone,

So my homeowner's insurance has been increasing almost 20% every year, which seems a little high. We have Progressive Homesite. I'm going to call them but am considering changing insurer. It caused our escrow to be short and now our mortgage has increased.

Does anyone have any suggestions for affordable homeowner insurance providers? We are in Greer.

I have Safeco and I found them to have the best rates especially if you combine with auto insurance.

The general business model for the insurance industry has changed - the longer you stick with your insurance provider, the more they raise prices, assuming that you are too busy to shop around. That doesn't apply for the cooperative / mutual models though. It's harder to move to a new provider if you have recent claims but it can't hurt to shop.
