AT&T U-Verse is now available in a large portion of the upstate including most parts of Anderson and Greenville counties: AT&T U-verse Arrives in Greenville (http://news.prnewswire.com/DisplayReleaseContent.aspx?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/08-09-2009/0005074315&EDATE= - broken link)
I'm able to get the u-verse service in Downtown Greenville near McBee Station. Have a confirmed installation date of Aug 18th. A piece of advice: I signed up to be "notified" when it was available but was never told when it became available. It's my severe dislike for Charter that kept me checking the website weekly and entering my address.
Best of luck to everyone on this..... if you're like me your mailbox has been POUNDED over the last 6 months with offers for the Charter Bundle (on average 2 offers per week). That is in direct response to their realization that they will not be able to use a monopoly to keep customers any longer. It will feel good to drop off those cable boxes later this month.
We haven't had any problems with our satellite dish TV service so far. I tried Charter's cable TV service years ago and was quickly dissatisfied. We still use them for high speed internet, but are definitely going to try U-Verse since they now serve our home address.

Best of luck with it- they give you $250 just for signing up, provided you keep it for 30 days!
I have been doing research and it's supposed to be awesome. I just despise Charter altogether and used AT&T for DSL until U-verse showed up. Now regular Cable Internet is slow compared to what U-verse offers.
This service is tempting but I have nothing but high praise for Charter. I understand they will be adding more HD channels by the end of this month. I will hold off on that announcement before I make a decision. I have never had any issues with Charter. I have high speed internet, phone and the full television package, including the DVR.
