Relocated here from NYC here over a decade ago and still have not found ONE Dominican restaurant with authentic food unless it is Cuban or Colombian or more likely Mexican. Maybe Dominican cuisine is asking for much in a town this size, but 'come on! There's gotta be one place around town that sells traditional Dominican cake or Dominican bizcocho. I'm getting sick of butter cream icing cakes or tres leches!! Mom's birthday is coming up and I can't find good cake!

Call these people, see if they know a place, possibly. Have noticed the name in the past and just taking it for granted the name may match where they are originally from.

About Us | Dominican Hair Salon

There use to be a bakery on 29 in Lyman area that moved to Chesnee (haven't been since they moved, but use to be great) who I know were from one of the Latin American Countries and baked all kinds of things. Here's a link:

https://plus.google.com/+nationsbake...ut?gl=us&hl=en or Nations Bakery - Chesnee, SC | Yelp

If in Charlotte, try this place, just found the info if you really get a hankering and want to see if they have it, or can help you find it!

Nano's | Dominican Cuisine

I know how it is to have a hankering for something (good Cuban food, freshly made salsa from FRESH tomatoes, not freshly made from a can, eggplant parm., and good pizza!)

Good luck!
