Reading today in the Atlanta paper that the department store chain Von Maur has just opened their second Atlanta store and they are looking for opportunities in South Carolina. Magnolia Park should land these guys. Sounds like a good opportunity for a great anchor for MP.

Sounds nice. I shopped once at a Von Maur up near Indianapolis several years ago. I remember it being pretty decent.

Hope it's true! Good to see an independent dept. store chain growing!

I think Von Maur is more of a high end store similar to Nordstrom. They have just taken over a former Bloomingdale's location in Atlanta.

They're in some very interesting markets in the Midwest if that's the case...

They are a store that "attempts" to be high end, though much of their merchandise is moderate to better moderate. They do fashion themselves after Nordstrom on customer service, store layout, etc, but their merchandise, IMO, is just OK.

Walls are going up finally on the Toys r Us. Dirt has really been moved almost all the way to the old part of the mall that remains standing. What else is going in there for now?
