Not true, particularly T L Hanna high and the schools that feed into it.

Just bought a house in north Anderson area. It has a more rural vibe, which I like. Lot of two lane roads with trees on both sides that go thru rolling hills, horse pastures, cornfields, etc. Feels more old school south minus the bad aspects of that time.

North Anderson is good area to buy in because 81 is high growth area, good chance home value will increase big time, especially as Greenville gets more built up and congested and people willing to commute to get away from it.

Did you end up moving to Anderson and if so what do you think? We are coming to look at a house there tomorrow from North Dakota. We have kids and want a safe, happy place to raise them. The warmth will be amazing as well. Also how's the crime there for those of you that actually live there? Is there a good side of town and a bad side? Thank you.

ND? Awesome! Im from Anderson. Anderson is generally safe and happy. Northern Anderson city and the SC 81 corridor are the best places with the best schools, growth, income, and safety. Andersons also at a central location. 2 hours from Atlanta, Charlotte, and state capital Columbia, 20-30 from Greenville, ~45 from the mountains, and 4-5 hours from the beach.

if you want any specifics about A-town, just PM!

Shopping is not exciting. I rather be out on the lake in Anderson. A full busy life does not need shopping in it or a big city
I like your attitude!
