I need direction on the best place to get airline tickets. We will be leaving GSP, or Charlotte, to go to Las Vegas. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I tend to go directly to the airlines. I've never found better deals through one of the travel web sites unless you are buying at the very last minute.

You might also consider Atlanta, as the tickets will likely be cheaper if you can get a direct flight.

Expedia is good to get an overall picture.. But don't forget to check Southwest as their flights are not listed on Expedia.

I'm actually looking at tickets to Vegas over the summer (Late July) myself right now.. You're pretty much looking at $420 on Southwest.. Other airlines are right around $500.

Oddly.. At this moment, it's MORE expensive to fly from Charlotte. Technically, it's a few bucks cheaper, but the gas and time to get there makes it not worth it.

Atlanta seems to be the lowest cost right now going to Vegas. I've found tickets there from July 20th for under $400

I prefer to find the tickets on Expedia, then book through the airline direct.

You can also Google it. I use hotwire.com or priceline.com.

Visit your standard travel sites (Kayak, etc), but also go to SouthWest airlines website...they're low cost, fly out of a lot of airports including GSP, but do NOT post their rates with travel sites. You have to use theirs.

Allegiant is the cheapest. But I believe they only fly on certain days. I almost booked a flight from GSP to West Palm Beach for the weekend and it was almost $500 round trip. I checked Allegiant last minute and paid $85 each way. The only catch was that I had to fly out Thursday evening instead of Friday but well worth saving all that money!

Allegiant is awesome and has the best prices but unfortunately they only fly to FL from GSP. I wish they would have more destinations from here. In FL, we had lots of choices.

If the days work out, the OP could always fly to FL and then onto Vegas
