If your planning on relocating to GREENVILLE please consider this.
There are a lot of things that go on in Greenville County. Most people know about them but refuse to accept them. Yes, some of the schools in greenville have been highly ranked but few people know about the sexual activities that go on in the middle and high schools. Students have sex and oral sex behind stairwells and in bathrooms, even in the basements of some schools that have them. Believe me, I know. I recently graduated this year and I went to Greenville Senior High and all types of things happened and still do happen to this very day while they are relocated at Parker Middle. There are numerous drug deals on campus on a DAILY basis at ALL high schools and some middle schools in Greenville (this includes crack cocaine, marijuana, ecstacy.. etc.) , people bring weapons on campus, numerous fights, and threats are always being made towards fellow pupils and teachers/administration. Greenville in itself is another story. We rank the highest for STD'S in teenagers, teenage pregnancies, school drop-outs and etc. There are drug dealers that sit in class with your children EVERYDAY. You find atleast 10 drug dealers in each neighborhood you go to whether it be a rich, poor, good, bad, black, or white neighborhood. Most people have crack houses sitting right next door or across the street from them and wouldn't even know it. You can have a beautiful, decent looking house in your neighborhood and you would never that it is a "trap-house" (slang for a drug house where drugs are sold, packaged..etc) Domestic Violence rates are VERY high. There are gangs.. which most people dont think could be possible because most people describe Greenville as "a small, pleasant town" Bloods, Crips, Folks etc. and of course we have Murders, Homicides, Suicides, Child Abuse, Rapes, Kidnapping everything under the sun. In 2005 we were ranked number 13 on the Census Bureau for the most dangerous cities. It's not just the SMOG people (WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT?!). Some of us have to realize that things that go on in this city. Don't be attracted to Greenville just because downtown looks beautiful at night, or because we have "wonderful" subdivisions or great neighborhoods where having and raising a family would be idealistic or a piece of cake. It's not all about that. People will only believe what they want, and I'm sure that this will fall on deaf ears but I have seen things in this town that you wouldn't imagine or expect seeing happen right in front of your house. People need to become more educated and talk to your children about some of these things that I'm sure they have witnessed or know about. Because it is happening, in your neighborhood and at your childrens schools or right in front of your face.

All this discussion of crime in Greenville is hilarious! It is no different than any other city of its size. In fact, in my "world" it is much better than most.
You want to find trouble, you can. If you choose to make your "world" a better place, you can.

I've gotta say, you're making some pretty bold claims.
Personally, I think you're taking a handful of incidents, multiplying them by your imagination, throwing in some exaggerated statistics, and presenting something that is based more on opinion than fact. I grew up in a town with Bloods, crips, crack houses, high STD rates, homocides, yadda yadda yadda.. every single thing that you named. So what? Where are you going to live that doesn't have these things?
Some good buddies of mine went to Greenville High, and they joke about some of these things, but they've told me that it wasn't too bad. They all turned out perfectly fine.
Welcome to America, by the way.

I grew up right outside of Detroit. Greenville will be an improvement.
Based on how many times you eluded to the fact that no one will listen, and now you're posting here, saying the same thing, People have tired of the exaggeration and disgust in the tone of your message.
Back it down a notch, eliminate the "stories" (what you hear from others), and encourage students to step up and report this stuff. If students simply walk into the Principal's office when they spy such activity (or call 911 if necessary!), adults will know where to go.
The trouble is not that people are ignoring your cries for help. The trouble is that there are not enough adults in the building to police every move of every student. Students would protest that their rights were being violated if, say, an adult monitor were placed in every bathroom. (Or, worse yet, cameras.)
So, you see, I can address your problem as if I attended *your* high school, because it happened at mine 20 years ago. And it will happen when my sons attend high school soon.
The issue isn't that "Greenville isn't all it's cracked up to be," it's that something else was missing in your high school experience. Presence of parents, activities you believed in, or even, as you say, lack of security.
You need to keep talking about this, but in a much more realistic way, and with more facts than simply "it's the 13th most dangerous city."
Remember, this is coming from someone who grew up under the shadow of the Murder Capital.
