Oh I see the facts, CCF has a building permit, that permit has an address of 700 Haywood Rd. Am I denying that nope. Both CCF and Simon have said they can neither confirm, nor deny CCF is coming to the mall. Simon released a statement saying something to the effect no contract has been signed, unless something changed overnight. Wspa hasn't even discussed it this morning so far. CCF statement on Fox21 last night was to the effect of they have the permit, but that's where it ended. Those are the facts I see. BTW, the permit expires in April, so they better get to work.
If CCF is going to sign a lease then doesn't that mean that Simon paid for the building permit and will be paying for the addition to their building?
I am sure Simon probably has an intent to lease but as the CCF official says in the Greenvilleonline article they don't comment when they haven't officially signed the lease.
I am also surprised they would have construction ongoing during the critical NOV-DEC sales period. Most malls pause or shy way from construction during that time. I am thinking they may not start on the outside addition until after the Holidays so there may be plenty of time yet to sign the lease. The have a large section of the parking area torn up there and fenced off that really impedes on the mall entrance on the upper level and into JCP's parking area as they do utility work it looks like. I would think they are trying to get that finished up and some of the parking repaved and fence pulled back some before the holiday sales period but who knows for sure.
John was apparently badly scared by a vagrant cheesecake when he was a wee lad. Phobias like that are often life long things. It's going to be ok......they keep their cheesecakes behind glass for public safety these days. They cant get at you.
If CCF is going to sign a lease then doesn't that mean that Simon paid for the building permit and will be paying for the addition to their building? The permit was issued to TCF Inc or whatever, not Simon, according to the story on Fox last night. That gives them options other than the mall.

I would think they would finish what they could outside before Black Friday, and resume the following Monday.

Huh? Why attack me like that? All I did was make a comment, and respond to a post. Sorry! Eat your damn cheesecake and choke on it!
