Does anyone find that the local stations are choppy during rainy weather? We have amplified antennas inside. We basically only use it for the news but it can be annoying. Most of the other stations are all religion which I thought was strange.
Ever since the switch to digital, this has been a problem. In FL, I could SEE the transmission towers, but reception wasn't always great. I'm convinced that the switch was at least partially pushed by the cable/dish industry. At least in the good old analog days, you could get a picture under bad conditions, even if it was a bit snowy. Between the reception difficulties and lousy content of network TV, I've been reading more- a lot more.

Yes, but it seems worse on the tv that is farther away, and has more cable distance from the antenna. I have a hard time getting Channels 4 & 7 on that TV, even in good weather. The TV closer to antenna rarely a problem with any channels except really bad weather sometimes, and then again, its channels 4 & 7.

Mine was choppy like that until I got this beauty:
Yes, I have used a Terk Indoor but not the omni directional.
I think I got CBS well and ETV local well and 16 WGGS with the indoor directional. That's kind of disappointing as I didn't get ABC, NBC, or FOX or CW/40/62. I love the outdoor one that gives me all of those.
Has anyone used one of these and how did it work for you? $79.99 at Best Buy.
I have recently purchased the Walmart version of that Terk antenna for $49.99. It is an excellent performer, and even reliably receives 13-WLOS from Asheville which can be problematic. They recently upgraded the included amplifier, and now claim a further reception range of 50 miles for this antenna. And it also picked up WBTV-3 from Charlotte, which is much further than 50 miles. So I would save some money and get the Walmart version. It is a different model number than Best Buy, probably to avoid price matching. But a similar design that performs very well and perhaps even better.
But be advised, with an indoor antenna, optimal placement is strategically important, as it is best to place near an outside window on the side of the house facing the direction of the signal towers. As walls on the wrong side of the house can block signals.
