There are crossing lights at Southridge, and walking downtown is absolutely no problem. We are near there, and walk downtown frequently. You can't go wrong with either location, imo.

Thanks lv2trvl :-) Now our only problem will be finding a vacancy for April. We're looking at things a bit farther out as well just in case (Hawthorne at the Park) and we're open to any and all suggestions.

If you are looking that far out I would also suggest looking in the Verdae area. The Tapestry apartments are very nice: .Live Life Colorfully. They have a dog park but you are also near Legacy Park, a favorite of dog owners. There is also a brand new complex going up on Verdae Boulevard, that will have access to the planned extension to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. I would be glad to answer any questions you have about it.

There is a new complex going up on Mauldin Rd; it is directly across from Lake Conestee Nature Park, whcih has access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It is a great location. However it will not be ready for occupancy until the Fall of 2016.

We'd like to rent first to get to know the area better before buying a house. We have a dog so we need help to find a pet friendly rental (house or apartment) that would be available from March or April. We would love to be close to downtown if possible. I think an agent would be the best solution for setting up house/apartment viewings during our week long trip in February. Does any body have any suggestions for an agent or suggestions for nice apartment complexes we could look into. We're looking for 3 bedrooms.
