Does ANYONE have an suggestion of who I should try? If not Greenville, SC area I will drive w/in reason to someone who has a clue of what they are doing.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

I have a great stylist. Her name is Shanna Eldridge and she's at Rapunzel's in downtown Greer. It's a 2-person salon--she and her business partner Angie Staton. Angie is good too. The phone number is 968-0060. My sister drives up from Alabama to go to her once every 8 weeks since she's so good, if that tells you anything.

Hope nobody minds if I make a remark, since I don't have any suggestions. However, I laughed out loud when I first saw your post, thinking "who would drive that far?" But now that I'm looking in the mirror at the bad haircut I got last summer (7 months and still waiting for it to grow out) I think it might worth every gallon of gas.

Hair Problems
The first problem is that most stylists don't know what to do with curly hair. I also have natural curly hair and have been living in Florida for nine years and have yet to have a decent hair cut. Everyone thinks that when it is curly if it gets botched up the curls will cover it, but actually you will look like you have stuck your finger in a socket !
If you find someone up there who knows what they are doing and you have to make a day trip it is worth it.

Finding a great stylist is like finding a treasure! I have lots of hair, but it's very fine. Once, when living in WA state, it took me two years to find someone who could cut my hair the way I wanted it (it's not a complicated cut, just a simple bob). Before finding him, 3 times a year I used to fly back to SC to let the stylist I had gone to for 10 years straighten out the mess others made of my hair. Cross country is not too far if that's what you have to do!
Two months ago, I let someone here in Greenville talk me into letting them cut my hair. I literally cried when I got home. After letting it grow out enough so my stylist could repair the damage; I made the trek back to Asheville to the stylist I've had for the past 3 years. I'll never let anyone else but her cut it till I can't make it to Asheville, or she's no longer cutting hair.

I agree with you, Susan2007! After being in Greenville for about 7 months and having gone through two different stylists, I finally had to go back to Chicago to my former hairdresser to get my highlights and cut fixed. Now I'm faced with getting my hair done here again and just dread it. Can't afford to fly to Chicago every 6-8 weeks.

Have you tried Millie Lewis? They are a modeling agency & salon. The hairdressers go to New York often to complete training. They are located on Pleasantburg Drive near Greenville Tech.
