The difference in a few miles. On this end of GC, there was a good bit of sleet on the ground. Id bet I was behind you on 385. Black Nissan??
I don't drive rice burners. lol
"dusting" to one also means different to others. Last I looked out when it was still light, you could still see slightly more grass than ice. But I heard more sleet coming down around 7pm, so, that may have changed.
Laurens Electric, from what i've seen on their site.. There was only 1 reported outage affecting 1 person all day, and it was fixed. Duke Power doesn't look to be so lucky, but doesn't look too bad for them, either.
We have about 6" in Tigerville, but it would have been a lot more if it hadn't been sleet most of the day yesterday. Light snow right now. Lots of ice under the pretty stuff- be careful out there.
I rec'd 1 inch of sleet/ice + 2 inches of snow overnight - very pretty - now, ready for it to melt LOL - looks like places to the north and east of Greenville rec'd the most accumulations.
Mauldin and South Carolina got hammered with snow for about an hour last night between 10 pm and 11 pm. WYFF reported 3 inches for us but it looks like half an inch of snow.

I hear ya!! I live off of 101 near Kelletts. I was behind a Black Nissan that went the other way on 101 at the bridge.
Roads here seem to be in so so condition. I can tell theres some melting of the stuff of my wieldsheild, and the raods are looking blacker than at 8 this morning. Just saw a DOT truck go uo the road with his blade up, so that's a good sign.
For those who just moved to this area from "snow zones", I'd rate this storm on a relative scale of 1-10 for this area as
2 - South of I85
3 - Greenville and west
5 - Taylors to Travelers Rest where there was more snow, ice and falling trees
And the weather forecasts and warnings were justified - it could have easily been much worse with ice and people knew to prepare.
I enjoy his enthusiasm and the way that he explains things. His Facebook page is fun, and a way to cut to the chase, as well.
Last year he (and most local meteorologists) caught a lot of strife after "Snowmageddon" did not come to pass.
I am glad that did not stifle him this year. Guess it is not a profession for the thin-skinned.
