Foothills Plaza is a retail center located at 2111 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-3136, at the northwest corner of North Pleasantburg Drive and Rutherford Road in the City of Greenville in Greenville County, South Carolina. It was originally anchored by Bi-Lo #84, Nichol's, and Revco. Nichol's closed in the late-1980's and was replaced by Big Lots #335 and Family Dollar #1527. Revco closed in 1997 prior to being acquired by CVS.

Bi-Lo #5608, 2111 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-3136
Bi-Lo #5608 opened in 1996 as store 8 replacing store 84. The pharmacy opened in August 2000. Store 8 would become store 608 upon Ahold's acquisition of Bruno's and inclusion into Bi-Lo, and store 5608 upon Bi-Lo's acquisition of Winn-Dixie in 2012.

Bi-Lo #5608 has struggled in recent years against its nearest competitors, Ingle's stores 32 (1335 Stallings Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-6946) and 69 (Cherrydale Point, 1500 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-2929). Speculation of the store closing has existed since 2007. The pharmacy department closed in September 2007.

Bi-Lo #5608 is rumored to be closing in the near future. Southeastern Grocers is closing several underperforming Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie stores chain-wide.

That's still the most convenient location for the N Main region shoppers, it's a shame to see it close. There's not a major increase in the competition in the last 10 years from what I can see (unless you count store renovations).

You are right competitors have not moved into the trade area in the past ten years. That is changing. Walmart Supercenter #6223 remains planned for the former Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet dealership at 3136 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-3757. Harris Teeter will open a store at NorthPointe. Publix is speculated having interest in the trade area.

I recall Bi-Lo #5608 had plans to expand years ago and add a pharmacy drive thru.

Wow, I am not surprised. It's not very busy when I shop there but it is a good location. I agree as someone else said it's the closest to the N Main area. They don't have much of a choice for grocery shopping. I think the slated Super Walmart and location will do well. Btw, when is that supposed to open? It would be nice if there were an Aldi closer to downtown as well. Maybe, they will put one near because there is a Walmart going to be there? I know others in downtown have mentioned they'd like a Target. Maybe, a Super Target would work there? Otherwise, I think some other big grocer should go there. We don't have any high end grocers on this side of town. (Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Trader Joe's)

Walmart Supercenter #6223 does not have times set for construction and opening that I am presently aware of.

Any specialty gourmet and organic grocers would be wise locating in Travelers Rest. Infill growth is occurring along Poinsett Highway.

All I recall were Bi-Lo #84, Nichol's, and Revco. Bi-Lo #84 was the first Bi-Lo I recall having a bakery, a delicatessen, a vestibule, and split aisles.
