Default Hazardous Household Waste disposal

The previous owners of our house left lots of chemicals (deck stripper, automotive oil, batteries, pesticides, cleaners, paint, stain, etc.). I am very environmentally conscious and and want to dispose of this stuff property (not down the drain or in the trash). Does anyone know where I can take this stuff for recycling/proper disposal?

You can take the batteries here Recycling and Environmental Education Center
800 E. Stone Ave., Greenville. The automotive oil you can take to any Jiffy Lube. They have a tank in the ground where you can pour the oil into. If the paint is latex you should be able to get rid of it at any convenience center except stone ave. They say to look to donate the pesticides to churches etc but perhaps a local small time contractor might like them. Call 241-1090 regarding the other stuff. See here Public Works for further info.
