Default Difference between Easley and Greer

Hi! We are torn between these 2 areas as far as where to buy a home. Our youngest is in high school. Can someone help me by comparing these 2 areas outside of Greenville? We live in Columbus, Ohio and will be moving once our home sells. Your feedback is appreciated.

I'm just moving to the Greenville area myself, but I did look at houses in both areas. Greer is a far more up-and-coming area than Easley and it's closer to everything that you want to be close to. The schools in Greer/Simpsonville are supposed to be quite a bit better too, from what I'm told, but I didn't really look into that much as we don't have children yet and plan to homeschool when we do.

From my experience, Easley is definitely more 'country' than Greer, which can be 'country' in spots, but is much more centrally located and less likely to remain so. You'll also find a lot of older subdivisions in Easley. I don't mind that myself, since I really hate most subdivisions and prefer something that looks less like some kind of socialist nightmare of forced conformity than most of the newer subdivisions do.

There isn't anything wrong with either area, but IMHO, Greer does rate higher, if for no other reason, than simply for its central location.

Default easley or greer

You can probably get about the same size home for the same money. I live in Easley and can be at the mall or Woodruff Rd. in 20 minutes. Greer does have more shopping and they are doing a lot in the Main St. area. Easley is working on a new shopping center and have a couple of new eateries. Greer has a lot of new subdivisions. I guess with me it all depends on the commute to work. Easley (Pickens county) has lower property taxes but we pay a higher percentage of sales tax.
