Spartanburg County Council approved the first reading of tax incentives package for a company, currently known as "Project Lockdown," that would create 480 full-time jobs in a $29,000,000 investment. It is speculated the projected company is seeking a 20-acre site near South Carolina Highway 290 in the Poplar Springs community.

"Project Lockdown" could be either a manufacturing plant or a distribution center.

I will agree Magna has various plants in Spartanburg and Greenville counties manufacturing various parts for BMW.
