The title explains it all! I know, there are a bunch of church threads but I didn't find one specifically stating live teachings.

We have been here about a week and a half now and are looking for a non-denominational (possibly Baptist?) contemporary church near Greer (we live in Sugar Creek)with live teachings. I noticed a lot of the churches around here like NewSpring, Grace, and SeaCoast rely heavily on video teachings.

A little about us - husband and wife (mid 30's - early 40's) with four kids (high school, middle school, elementary, and preschool ) so we are looking for a very family oriented church with a fantastic youth program. We are coming from a church with an average weekend attendance of 2500, we wouldn't mind something smaller but not 100 people small. Also, our family was extremely active in the church with our two older children attending youth group weekly and my husband and I serving on weekends an average of 3x per month. I also did admin work for the Family Ministries Director weekly. In past, we have also lead growth/life/community groups as well. We would love to find a "home" where we can plug in, meet people, and serve God.

Thanks!

Brookwood Church - Home

Fellowship Greenville - HomeFG

I have heard good things about the above churches. I think Brookwood is closer to what you are used to. It's really not that far from Sugar Creek. You can either go down Hwy 14 to Simpsonville and then turn right when it ends at Hwy 417 or take I-85 to I-385 and exit on Hwy 417 (probably faster).

Fellowship Greenville is on Hwy 14 fairly close to Woodruff Rd. They actually are in Brookwood's original location before Brookwood outgrew that location and built new facilities. For that reason, I think there are a lot of people from that area that still go to Brookwood.

There are also a lot of traditional churches (not non-denominational) that offer contemporary services. These are the ones I have heard good things about or know members there:

Covenant Methodist Covenant United Methodist

First Presbyterian Greenville firstpresgreenville.org

Buncombe Street Methodist bsumc.info

I hope these links work. Good luck in your church search. I know how hard it is to find the right fit for you.

We've been going here for over 8 years, it's in Greer. Great Biblical teaching, great worship and great kids program; we have 2 little girls and the love it.

I have attended Brookwood Church, Grace Church, and NewSpring Church in person and online. They have practical preaching and active ministries. I think NewSpring Church has active and lively student and kids ministries at its permanent campuses.

You have probably done this already, but first you should pray with your family to hear from God on where you should be. It could be God doesn't want you in a congregation of thousands and needs you in a 100 member church (to help grow it, etc...). Brushy Creek Baptist is a fairly large contemporary church you may like. It's very close to where you live (Eastside High and Brushy Creek Elementary). My wife and I are in our 40s and we chose a church that sings hymns and preaches from KJV...we're at Laurel Baptist (Haywood/Laurens). We run about 200.
