We're so looking forward to moving but having a problem finding a house that works for us in the Converse Heights/Fernwood area/Eastside area.

We're thinking of putting everything in storage and renting an apartment for a year. Can anyone suggest a quiet, safe, garden-style apartment complex? Probably a 2 bedroom less than $1,100/month.

Thanks so much!

Thanks! I looked at those on line but it's great to hear from a real person.

Also, we're trying to see what living in Spartanburg would be like so does anyone know of one closer in to Spartanburg?

There are some on reidville rd called river run apartments they look nice. Also check out Drayton Mills
Have not lived in either , but have been in Drayton mills nice high ceilings. Although the walls are not as thick as regular apartment walls so little more noise depending on which floor.

Thanks! We stayed in a hotel in Duncan (mid-way to son's house) and went up and down Reidville Road several times. Those did catch my attention. We'll be back in about 2 weeks to visit.

Does anyone know of a complex that allows short term -- 3 or 6 month -- rentals?

Again, thanks for the feedback.

You should do that regardless. Every relocating family should.

Settle in a bit, really get to know an area, make a few friends...
THEN (if all is as you expect) look for a suitable property at your leisure.

Drayton Mills is great, although as noted, they're loft apartments. Brand new complex. The plus is that you're essentially in the part of town you want to buy in.

Thanks! We're putting this house on in just a couple weeks, then by mid-summer, we should be relocated. We're in an area where houses are moving quickly. So fingers crossed.
