They have completely invaded my home and are destroying it. Does anyone know if it is legal to discharge a BB gun in a residential neighborhood?

Theres the 3 "S"s, but I would suspect there's a law against the BB gun, not to mention it would have to be a pretty powerful BB gun, not just your red rider version, to kill a squirrel.

If it is, it shouldn't be. A BB gun doesn't have enough power to kill them; it will only maim them.

Call a pest control company.

You may have HOA covenants that are against firing a BB gun period.

BBs, no. However pellets are fine. You want an air rifle that fires .177 for small game like squirrels. You can get a decent one at Walmart.

Of course you want to check with your local laws as to firing in proximity to dwellings.

pest control might be more effective, but a pellet gun might be an okay option depending on where you live. Most BB guns I had as a kid would not kill a squirrel, just scare it off. The Pellet gun would have a better chance.

There might be other ways to keep them out of your home like sealing up holes, putting up wire barriers, etc.

Pellet rifles powerful enough to kill squirrels are about as loud as 22's.Its all about breaking the sound barrier.

Squirrels can cause a lot of damage, I had one chew my wiring harness under my hood of my truck.
Toyota wanted to replace the complete harness for $1400. They said they would not splice to fix.
I ended up taking it somewhere else for $150. Not only did they chew my wires they chewed the hose to my wiper fluid. Moth balls in a plastic container with drill holes and zipped tied in my engine bay was my deterrent after that.

Any squirrel with a BB gun should be shot before they shoot someone's eye out. Squirrels are notoriously poor shots!
