Hello! We are moving to the Powdersville area next month and are researching a new bank. We love our local credit union, but need something local.

Anyone love their bank because of no/low fees and great service? We would also like a branch with a safe deposit box too, if available.

My husband will be at GHS and use their credit union. Is that a good option?

Thanks for any info!

The GHS credit union won't have a branch out in Powdersville. The drive over to GHS is pretty short and if you don't need to go to the bank's physical location very often, it might work. Powdersville doesn't have much in the way of banks. There is enough population there to merit more bank branches but it hasn't happened yet.

The number of remaining local/small banks that I can recommend is dwindling. If you're used to credit unions, I would stick with them! SC Telco comes to mind as it has a branch near GHS and has a branch in Easley, not too far from Powdersville.

I just joined South State Bank, as I have had long distance banking w/USAA for 30 years. The people at South State were very friendly, and willing to help me get some paperwork signed- bigger banks would only discuss after having an account for 6 months. I will stay with South State, and they have enough local banks for personal assistance.
Welcome to the area!
