Sam’s Club and Academy Sports + Outdoors could be coming to the Easley Town Center, a retail shopping complex along U.S. 123.

Tommy Holcombe, Easley’s building official, said the two retailers have expressed interest to the city in opening stores at Easley Town Center, and the city is reviewing site plans for those potential stores and several other potential retail stores that couldn’t be named.
Nice to see the interest in that area!

Glad they are keeping the ball rolling but I'm ready for some more action at this site. I wonder when we can expect an announcement hopefully soon.

Academy Sports would really be a good get for Easley but no knock I am suprised that they aren't going to Anderson first. They pull shoppers from a bigger pool like North Georgia. As far as the old Walmart in Easley good luck with that one. They sometimes don't give up their empty buidings so quickly to other major retailers (competitors). There is one in Greenwood that was just a few years old when they built a new supercenter and it has been empty now for over 10 years with the exception of a catalogue nursery that operated there for a while.

From the Easley Patch:

Easley Town Center will see further growth in 2012 with the addition of Academy Sports and a new Sam's Club store in 2013. There are also plans for new retail stores to be added between Walmart and Kohl's, Bagwell said.

I don't see why they can't land Ross or Maxx/Marshalls for this center. TJMaxx opened in Greenwood (about the size of Easley) last fall. I really expected one or two of those stores to come to this center.

I totally agree, I hate having to drive to cherrydale or woodruff/haywood to visit these stores....
