Agreed. SE Grocers seems to be conducting an orderly winding down of existing stores. Esp where Bi lo is concerned. Stores lease terms / expirations, seem to be the driving force. Greenville SC stores ( locations ) may have some value, but Bi Lo as a banner will cease to exist. It was a great run 54+'years. It will interesting to watch C & S Wholesalers role. They were a key component of the previous bankruptcy filing. Lone Star Funds has thrown in the towel on this investment.
When the new Wal-Mart opened in Easley in 2011, I was sent over to the BI-LO in Easley, (the one in the Kmart parking lot) to perform 30 demonstrations in 30 days because the store was very worried about the new WalMart....... within a few years, that BI-LO closed.
IMO BiLo has a big inconsistentcy issue. From store to store you really don't know what you're going to get.
Meanwhile places like Ingles, Publix, and even Food Lion now that they have done serious remodels of most of their stores, offer a much more consistently pleasant experience.
I think they should take some of their lower end or older stores and rebrand them as Winn-Dixie. That brand is still very well-known around here and would give the location a sense of "new" if they introduce it right.
Winn-Dixie ultimately failed in Greenville and across South Carolina. I do not see the logic of expanding a troubled banner when it continues to have troubles and closes stores.
Food Lion has made minor aesthetic improvements to its stores. It has ways to go (i.e. add pharmacies, lower prices, improve service, etc.) to be on par with other Ahold Delhaize banners Giant-Carlisle/Martin's, Giant-Landover, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.
Ingle's is picking up in store investment activity in South Carolina.
Sad because they were doing a good job for a while at making them nicer - see Verdae, Simpsonville and the one in Clemson. Then they got bought out, and Winn Dixie which always was garbage has been bringing BiLo down with them.

I went in the Clemson Bi-Lo about a year ago and was immediately smacked in the face with the smell of rancid cooking oil. It smelled like someone had been frying chicken with oil that was extremely old. I immediately turned around and headed back out the door. That was the last Bi-Lo I went inside and given that it was similar to the last few I've been in, will likely be the last time I ever go into a Bi-Lo.

BI-LO #5704, Verdae Village, 101 Verdae Boulevard, Suite 1200, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-3823, was nice when it opened in 2007. Ten years later, the store has eroded to be in the process of closing.
The Bi Lo stores down here in the Augusta/Aiken area are also terrible. I never shop at them.
BI-LO has struggled and continues to struggle against supermarkets Kroger, Publix, and Walmart Neighborhood Market and hypermarket Walmart Supercenter for awhile in Aiken County and in Columbia and Richmond counties of Georgia.

Is the Verdae Super Store BI-LO really going to close? Do you know when?
