The problem was Roper was over priced. $10-$15 bucks a car was insane for what they had. They needed to keep it at $5 a car like the first year I went in 06-07. I also think they would have done well to partner with someone like duke energy to do and LED upgrade and make a huge deal out of it.
Why pay more to see the same thing and possibly less each year?

I hope they still keep the giant lighted star on top of the mountain. It is always nice to see while driving through the area during the holiday season.

The similar display at Greenville-Pickens Speedway seems to have gotten much more popular the last couple of years judging by the nightly traffic jam at the entrance.
