We've just about run out of options for recycling. Our trash company doesn't offer it. The collection center at Bi-Lo in TR is gone. My wife called, and the nearest collection center is down in Berea! I guess recycling isn't very profitable, and thus not a good idea. Wow.

Noticing a collection center was at Gateway Village, it could be a possibility the landlord decided not to renew the lease.

I thought it was strange when we moved here from FL, nobody recycled. I felt really odd throwing recyclables in the regular trash. I wish it were more of a priority here.

This made me sad, too. We're in a large apartment complex off Pelham Road and they don't recycle at all. I have also felt really guilty throwing wine bottles, plastic containers, cardboard boxes etc into the trash.

I hope our new neighborhood in Spartanburg has curbside recycle pickup.

If you live within Spartanburg city limits, you will have curbside recycling, twice monthly. You will need to call and request a blue bin if your home does not have one. They take cardboard, plastics, paper, no glass however, although that's become common as of late with recycling.

Echo Valley is a 25 mile round trip for us. Does it make sense to burn the gas in our car for a box of recycling?

Depends on how often you make that trip MushCreek? Maybe only go twice a month. That's what we did in our household. Also if your name gives any hint to your location then would Blackberry Valley Residential Waste and Recycling Center 409 Blackberry Valley Rd. Greenville, 29617 be close enough? Just trying to help out. Happy Recycling!

Thanks! We will be in city limits so that's great news! I hadn't looked into it yet.
