I remember when I was a kid and visited my Grandparents in Clemson. The trains would wake me up the first couple of nights and after that I slept right through the noise.
See my edit after finding the recent You Tube and comments !

Thanks. I got your PM and provided you our cell # as well so you would know who this stranger is calling or texting you next week !
I'm curious if you found any more information about the train schedules through downtown Easley? We are also interested in a unit in the Old high school, but worried about noise and diesel pollution.
The only information I could find is that trains pass by 26 times per day. Norfolk Southern doesn't have detailed schedule information, so I'm at a loss how to find out more. Maybe the Chamber of commerce?

I tried to help the OP.I had an office right across the street from the tracks for years. After a month or so I only noticed the trains if I was on the Phone.I asked around to people who lived or had lived right by the tracks. The consensus was that after a week or two you didn't even notice the trains.
The old High school is close to the track but at a much lower elevation.I think that makes a difference. One of my best friends has an Insurance agency right by the high school. He says they don't notice or even think about the trains.
My office now is about 75 yards from the tracks.I am shielded by the buildings on main street, but I never notice the train.Things are slowly starting to happen in the old down town Easley, and in a good way.
Let me know how I can help!
Rob
