Spartanburg districts 5, 6 & 7 closed Wednesday.

If we get any rain at the onset that will freeze tonight, with possible snow on top of that helping make driving dangerous tomorrow.

948p: Winter Storm warning for portions of the area (pink areas on map) for:
"WHAT...Heavy snow and black ice expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected." (Remember that NWS GSP covers Charlotte too where higher end of that is possible)
".A strong cold front will cross the region through tonight. A band of mainly light precipitation and quickly falling temperatures will accompany the front as it passes. Although the precipitation begin as rain in many areas, it should quickly mix with and change to light snow. In addition to the snow accumulations, quickly falling temperatures may allow the snow to stick, and/or any water on untreated roads to quickly freeze, resulting in numerous travel problems early Wednesday, including during the morning rush. The snow should end from west to east by Wednesday afternoon, although cold temperatures continuing through the day are expected to result in only gradual improvement to road conditions."

Probably originally announced waiting due to other weeks early cancel with no winter weather to show for it. But likely decision now with continuous uptick in snow totals this evening from NWS GSP which also warranted upgrade to Winter Storm Warning versus lower impact "Advisory".

No snow on my side of upper Laurens County, just rain. The couple of cars Ive seen indicate the roads are fine so far. I let you all know whats in Fountain Inn when I get to work

Just changed over to snow.

Just got to Fountain Inn @ 7. Roads are ok, but noticed VERY light accumulation on the roads in what would normally be shady spots on the road(s) I have to take to get to 385. From 101 to McCarter were fine, as well as the roads in town. Again, theres a couple of areas with accumulation that are shady spots.

Exactly. Was watching 21 and she said they upgraded to Warning, within seconds Greenville canceled.

no doubt wise, as areas surrounding Paris Mountain already have an inch of snow and the roads are covered
