Spartanburg was definitely not on our retirement list but we chose it to be close to family.
We are thrilled, however, to discover of all the festivals and cultural activities available here! Downtown, Chapman, the Little Theater, Hatcher Gardens and the various colleges for performances! We’ve been doing something almost every weekend since we got here! Now, the Children’s Museum is opening for our grandson. I ❤️ Spartanburg!
My favorite event of the year is coming up as part of Spring Fling: The Criterium on April 27th is a fun, fun, fun event! Even if you don't have a tailgate tent, watching the bicycle racers at close range is a lot of excitement. It is in its 14th year and still growing. The pro riders love coming to Spartanburg - this is the best-attended event on their criterium circuit.
Sounds like a lot of fun!! Love these type of outdoor events in the summertime, especially music outside. Looking forward to our visit in June. We are staying in Travelers Rest.
