I see that Spartanburg still has its own downtown department store: Carolina Cash.
I've heard of it but never been; is it a nice store, or more a dusty old merchant? Nice store or a discount one?
Further, I vaguely recall shopping at The Leader downtown in the early 90s, I think. It seemed old and dusty, and I see that it's gone. What happened to it? Wasn't it a Belk affiliate?
Carolina Cash is still there and sells clothing just like they always have. I have not been in there in years. The old leader building is going to become a bowling alley and event center. A group of guys from Greenville are developing the building right now. Construction has been going on for a while.
Carolina Cash, which has two stores in Spartanburg, has a decent selection of men's clothes. The prices are slightly higher.
