Izzy, I'm very sorry that you didn't have a good experience, but based on what you have described, I don't see discrimination.
You said that your daughter's teacher discriminated because he was telling anti-Catholic jokes. That's rude & unprofessional, but not discrimination. Discrimination would be if he said, "Mary, you can't go on the field trip tomorrow, because you're Catholic."
You said that you practically stalked people in an attempt to be friends. I'm a Yankee & that would make me very uncomfortable. I'd keep a distance from someone who did that. That's a case of trying too hard, & shooting yourself in the foot in the process.
I hope that you have a much better experience wherever you go, but please get a better understanding of what discrimination is & don't try so hard.
gs, how did you know I was moving to Houston? OMG, did you check out my other 5 threads that had NOTHING to do with race??? HORRORS, now you know....I'm all about finding softball for my daughter and adequate schooling for my children!!!!
