Asthetically, it's the ugliest high school I've ever seen. The outside literally looks like a prison from Wade Hampton Blvd. and we refer to it as a juvenile facility, not because of the students inside but simply by the way it looks outside. They recently put up big WHHS letters on the edifice of the building, probably just a coincidence but I think that just maybe they realized how God awful the building looked and wanted to add some color and let people know that it is indeed an institution of academia.
As far as the academics, haven't a clue. Just couldn't pass up on a thread as every time we drive by it we comment on how disgustingly drab it is. Okay, rant over.

I know a few kids who go there and they seem to really enjoy the place. They come from very good homes and parents who care about their education and social lives, so that is a plus. Another very nice element which will pass by unknown to most members on this forum, is the new Fine Arts Center located right nextdoor to the high school. This is a very unique facility where students have the opportunity to develop important skills they can use for the rest of their lives.

I wasn't kidding, every time we drive by it on Wade Hampton, my wife, my dad, whomever, everyone of them to asks if it's a jail/prison. It's the most depressing looking building I can think of.

I know a few people who are transferring to WHHS from other schools. For the most part, the main reason seems to be that it's closer to the Fine Arts Center (as mentioned above). I don't really know much about the school itself either...I know a lot of people who went/go there and liked it.
Random note: During high school it was funny seeing how kids at different schools did different things on weekends, weeknights, etc. Greenville High kids hang out downtown a lot, probably because a lot of the students come from the North Main and Augusta Road areas (which are on either side of downtown). Wade Hampton kids...we never saw them. Ever. It seemed strange because we would see friends downtown from Eastside, Riverside, J.L. Mann, and even Easley...but never Wade Hampton. Anyways, that had nothing to do with anything

Greenville High looks amazing from the outside, and I love how they made sure to keep it the same when they renovated it, but the courtyard area (which now has a roof over it and is the cafeteria) in the middle is very prison-like and ugly.

Agree about Riverside as well, still not as ugly as WHHS though. Haven't seen Eastside, so can't comment. Greer and Blue Ridge are pretty nice looking, but overall highschools in G'ville county leave a lot to be desired asthetically.
