Being the one to break the story a few months ago on urbanplanet (pats self on back) I wanted to verify/confirm so I simply called the hotel. Wendy said that yes, indeed, they were going to come in and as a matter of fact Ruth's Chris would be running the whole food and bev/catering department @ the Crowne Plaza. She said the whole team was in yesterday scouting the site and they should expect a Nov. 1 opening date. RC is very pricey, everything is ala carte, i.e steaks come with no sides but the "prestige" is still very good for Greenville. Perception is very important.

What was the point of confirming it if it was already confirmed through a Greenville News article several weeks ago?

I don't make a regular habit of reading the Greenville News. Other then belittling me, did you post have any point?

Thank you for the information, Sonrise. I am looking forward to having a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in town. I hope that location suits them well and that they will be successful for the longterm. There is a fine bakery (Strossner's) right across the street, so perhaps they will compliment one another.

There is a Ruth's Chris in Columbia, and it seems to be doing very well.

On 12-9 the Crowne Plaza told me Ruth's Chris would open on February 20th. Get ready Greenville; do not let them fail!
