May buy in Easley - need some help
Hi everyone - we've been lurking on these forums for a couple of months and finally flew out to Greenville to check out the area. We drove all over, looking at all the surrounding towns and several houses. We actually found a home in Easley that we're thinking of buying.
Dumb me - there were a couple of homes in the neighborhood that were For Sale by Owner and I didn't think to write down the phone numbers. I've tried searching online and can't find them anywhere. Any ideas on how I can find them?
Also, we'd love any recommendations for a good home inspector, pool repair company and real estate attorney.
We love the area. We've lived in the midwest, the southwest and now we're on the west coast. Looking forward to this new adventure!

I assume that you have viewed homes with a Realtor. I would strongly recommend that you let them work as your Buyer's Agent to help you with any home purchase. They can call the FSBO's and help you through the purchase.

Hi KaraG!
Glad you enjoyed your time in the Upstate. Could you let me know which neighborhood in Easley you visited? I would be glad to get the numbers for you, if I know where it is.
For anyone else looking for something established in a neighboring county, I recommend the Saluda Dam Road area of Easley, near Antioch Road, Old Saluda Dam Road and Kay Drive. I have seen several nice homes for sale in that pleasant area. Crosswell Elementary is nearby, if that is a helpful reference. This area is in Pickens County, not too far from the Greenville and Anderson county lines.

Skyliner, My guess would be Burdine Springs or Georgetown subdivision. There are others that have homes with pools, but I do belleve that both of these subdivisions have homes with in ground pools that need some work. I guess the smart thing would be to wait until KaraG responds!!!

too many houses in that area
I grew up on a farm off Saluda Dam Rd. and now that area is crawling with subdivisions. I enjoyed it more when it was just nice woods.

Thanks everyone for all the help & recommendations (several people sent direct messages). We aren't using a buyer's agent because this was supposed to be just a general neighborhood scouting trip. We just happened to see a unique house that would work for us - we weren't planning on seriously moving until the end of 2008. So, if this works out, we'll try to move early, if not, we'll definitely use a buyer's agent. We had a superb one when we moved to Albuquerque, so I know how fantastic they can be.
