We live in central PA right now and although I'm not a snob or a bigot, if we move I'd like my neighbors to be like me, middle class with school-age children. My husband grew up on Long Island during the late 1960s (interpret as during the race riots after MLK's murder) and feels more comfortable with other Caucasians. It doesn't matter to me, as long as the people are friendly and law-abiding.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
You should be able to find homes in your range in good areas in Greenville area. Go to Greenville News (greenvilleonline.com) and to the homes section and search in your price range. While you might find a 3 bedroom home, many homes have what is called a "Bonus" Room that could be a 4th bedroom.

Default Staying where I am for now

Thanks to everyone who resounded. I just found out the SC is the 2nd poorest state in the country due to the fact that thier unemployment is so high. For now I'm going to stay where I am and just take one day at a time and see where God leads me.

SC is a very beautiful state. Maybe someday it will work out for me.
