The second best public high school in the state ranked by Newsweek Magazine is in Taylors. You must of been in the wrong part. There are parts of Taylors that are very wealthy and nice.

I'm looking for a place to relocate, and at the moment, Taylors is at the top of my list. This is what I have been doing when checking out different cities and towns......

I go to realtor.com and put in my price range and what I am wanting. Then I look at the listings, decide which ones look good online, and map them on google maps. Once I figure out the best order, I put the addresses into my gps unit and set off. This has helped me take some places off my list and also since they tend to be in all different parts of a town, I get a pretty good feel for the community.

Maybe this method would be helpful for you. I"m looking to spend less than 110K and found some very nice condos and homes that would work for me. I really liked what I saw in Taylors.

we are looking at some of the apartments in Taylor (pebble creek, and chimneys) Greenville area. I dont want to be in a run down area, but the more rural, the better for our family. taylor sounds more like the rural we are looking for.

anyone have ideas on those apartments.

we really want to be in the woods far from anything. We are in florida now and HAVE to get out of this 11 month long heat.

Taylors isn't rural at all. You want rural; Travelers Rest is rural.

However, near where a friend of mine lives in Taylors, there IS some rural land, between Wade Hampton Blvd and Brushy Creek Rd just off of Chick Springs Rd. Alta Crescent apartments are nice newer apartments in that general area.

Taylors has a little bit of everything - trailer parks, ritzy golf course subdivisions, industrial zones, wooded areas, middle income neighborhoods - but it really isn't rural.

Some people like it that way, some will hate the confusion. It has grown organically and that doesn't suit those who like rigidly planned growth.

I enjoy living in Taylors. I can be in just about anywhere in Greer or Greenville in 15 minutes or less, but I'm far enough out that I don't have constant traffic on the roads near my house. There are most definitely rural parts of Taylors.

DID YOU KNOW..... The name Taylors is a shortening of "Taylor's Station". I read that in an area history book or article. Not sure if that meant postal station, or something else.

EDIT: Just saw that someone very early in this thread already covered this.... My apologies!
