This is the way I see things happening in this country. Smoker gets his rights taken away. He shouts: Unfair! Unfair! He looks about and spots some woman at the Dairy Queen gorging on two Hot Fudge Sundaes, weighing 350 pounds. He calculates how much her obesity is going to cost the country, over the years, in health care costs. He calculates the health care costs on smoking. Unfair! Unfair! Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth! I'm going to join an organization that's going to restrict their freedom!

Ok, now the fat people lose their freedom. Unfair! Unfair! They shout!
They think: Those damn loud, thumping boom cars! They so irritate me and they're endangering their hearing as well as mine! So they start an organization to restrict the freedom of boom car drivers!

And all those registered sex offenders on the streets. All freedom taken away from them! Unfair! Unfair! They shout. What can I do to lessen my misery? Well, I can't a find a job, so I'll hang out at city hall and put my weight behind a group who wants to restrict somebody's freedom. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth!

What we really need to do, before this gets even more out of hand, is to call a truce: back off, back down! Until that point, freedom one day in this country will only be a mirage in the desert!

ummm....I agree but i'm confused, why did you bring up a year old thread to tell gman the rules surrounding boom cars, then say we shouldn't have those laws? my brain hurts, somebody kill this thread
